"The vision for the shop is 'affordable luxury' In the media we are inundated with images and stories of the celebrity life and all its trappings and we try and replicate what we see be it with fashion or our lifestyles. I feel that everybody is worth being 'celebrated' and you shouldn't need to be loaded to be treated well. A lot of salons especially black owned salons fall into two categories the first being 'ghetto' -no styling priorities, rude, uncaring unproffessional staff, long waits, cheap. The second polished, professional, clean and efficient - yet ridiculously expensive and out of a lot of people's price range and often clinical and cold. The A-List aims to brdge that gap with a warm friendly ambience, luxury treatment with complementary snacks and wi-fi, and above all attentive client based contact and excellent results."
We offer Afro and European styling from relaxing, to brazilian blow drying. We have a special interest in natural services as well and we offer free consultations to help clients choose their new hairstyles. We are the exclusive retail outlet for Michaell's Brazilian hair which is proving to be very popular online.

5 mins with Ene by Elizabeth ole
Ene Maya Lawani is an ex-beauty queen of the Miss Nigeria pageant. She emerged as the
winner of the pageant in 2004, and her reign continued up until 2010 when the pageant
resumed operation, making her the queen with the longest reign in pageant history.
We have a quick chat with Ene on her beauty regime and her favourite products.
Your favourite make-up item is….
Lipsticks- I love a full red tinted lip. Mascara- I love long lashes, it makes more
emphasis on the eyes.
Your signature scent….
I’m a perfume freak! Smell is the most evocative of our senses. Your fragrance conjures
up an image of who you are. My signature scent has to be Eau du soir by Sisley.
I discovered this beautiful bottled perfume 2 years ago when I was in Paris. It’s a classic
French perfume. It is classified as a redefined woody mossy fragrance, this seems to
sensually sweep through me and headily lift my spirits like a drug.
What’s your beauty regimen?
I have a very strict beauty regimen which I try to follow religiously, because I feel its
imperative one takes care of your skin. A healthy looking and glowing skin serves as
the foundation to any outfit. I love to use Clarins products because they are made
from natural plant extracts. I cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturize.

Many career women, especially those with kids, are likely to tell you that the last thing they need to worry about is their makeup. Ladies, we live in a visual world and believe it or not, appearance does matter! Why go through the lengths of dressing up, but then not complete the look? Makeup applied correctly will make you appear more professional, and considering that appearance is the first impression we give off, more often than not, it’s the first thing we get judged on.
Some of the common excuses we hear from those who can’t be bothered with their makeup are, “It takes too long and I simply don’t have the time," “Well I am well dressed, my shoes are clean, and my hair is in a neat bun. I look good,” or “I have nice skin and so I can get away without makeup.” Well, I am here to tell you that you are not quite right. Putting on your outfit and holding your hair into a neat bun shouldn’t take more than five minutes each. How about learning how to apply your everyday makeup in five minutes so it remains nothing to worry about?
Minute ONE & TWO -Your Face
You need to moisturize your face daily anyway, so here's a tip: using a tinted moisturizer will even out your skin tone and hide imperfections while keeping your skin well hydrated. This takes care of your moisturizer and foundation in one simple step. For those who may need a little more coverage, I’ll recommend using a pressed powder in your skin tone, as your foundation. This is also a quick, easy and mess-free process. If you need even more coverage, apply concealer to hide stubborn blemishes only in the areas where needed. Do this after your moisturizer, but before your foundation. Good areas to target with your concealer are the dark circles under your eyes. Trust me, it makes a huge difference!
Minute THREE -Your Eyes
For an everyday look, there is no need to layer up on the eye shadow. A quick dust of an earth tone shadow on your lids should only take a couple of seconds. Make sure you use an eye shadow base/primer before you apply to keep the shadow in place all day long. Within the third minute, you should also lightly line the lash lines of both eyes, and emphasize your lashes with a single coat of mascara. These little steps are a big deal in brightening and opening up your eyes.
Minute FOUR - Your Brows
Spend an entire minute defining your eye brows since these frame your eyes and make a significant difference in your facial appearance. Your eye brows should be groomed weekly/biweekly, or as often as needed by a professional at your local beauty salon so all it takes for daily maintenance are these easy steps; Brush your brows in place and use a well sharpened brow pencil or brow powder to lightly fill in the sparse areas of your brows with short strokes in the direction of your hair growth. Do this lightly and brush over your brows again to give it a natural-looking finish.
Minute FIVE - Your Lips Skip the lipstick to avoid heavy lips…just a light coat of a tinted lip gloss will be more than enough to make your lips pop without drawing too much attention. Smack your lips and check yourself out in the mirror. If you could use some blush, brush some on. Also invest in a simple hair accessory. Don’t you look beautiful? Didn’t you only spend five minutes? I told you so!
Now go face your day at work with confidence but don’t forget to throw your Crystal-Eyez On-D-Go Touch Up Kit into your purse. You’ll need this to maintain your look so that you remain flawless at your desk all day long.
